This Adult Choir has about 20 members sings at virtually all of the 10:30 services. In addition the choir performs for various other services. For instance, they have sung at the Easter Vigil service with sung Exsultet, psalms, canticles, two Festival Easter Day services (8am/10:30am), Festival of Lessons and Carols (2nd Sunday in Dec) with sung carols and anthems, and the Christmas Eve Service (24 December, 10:30pm) with full musical prelude preceding the Festival Eucharist.
As part of its commission of ministry and education, the choir has learned to enjoy teaching the congregation new hymns that we can sing together. This tradition of learning new hymns forms a major reason why people frequently cite our congregation as a great singing body. In 2010, a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral (Portland, OR) commented on the wonderful hymn singing of our congregation. The entire St. Paul’s congregation cares about music, and loves to sing the Anglican classics while also daring to learn new music and new texts. We are a singing congregation!
Always looking for new voices, we invite all who are interested and who would enjoy choral singing in the rich heritage of our Anglican tradition.
Choir rehearsals are Sundays at 9:00 a.m.
