As many of you know, our youth director, Estelle Beatty has broken her foot. She had surgery to insert pins earlier this week and is not to put any weight on her foot for a month. Please keep her in your prayers as she continues to heal.

Please keep Fr. Birch in your prayers as well as he will be assuming most of her duties with Sunday School and the Youth Group. No doubt some things will fall through the cracks until the situation stabilizes and he asks your patience as he take on this ministry for a time.

A. Beginning Tuesday Feb 28 the Tuesday afternoon Renovare group will be sponsoring a meditation group in the nave and chapels. The group will gather at 4:30 pm each Tuesday during Lent.

B. Beginning on Wednesday Feb 29 at 2:00 pm I will lead a discussion group in the Guild Room centered around Walter Brueggemann’s “Embracing the Prophets in Contemporary Culture.”

C. Also beginning on Wednesday Feb. 29 Dr. Tom Davis of the Whitman Philosophy Dept. will be leading a discussion in the Library of the Parables of Jesus. The group is targeted toward young adults (H.S. seniors – 30′s) but is open to any. Although an expert in the area, Dr. Davis is not a Christian. As the Bible frequently reminds us, however, wisdom and revelation are not limited to Christians. A different perspective can shed new light on old ideas.
